Alright girls, I'm looking for some help here. We're driving to Florida for Spring Break in a few weeks and I want to take some light, entertaining reading material. I am open to suggestions...please help.
I'm no help - I'm knee deep in baby reading material. I do have some books on my need to read list though, here they are: 1) "Tintenherz" by Cornelia Funke (I am trying to read the german, but Jen Lamb actually said she enjoyed the english better) http://www.amazon.com/Inkheart-Cornelia-Funke/dp/0439531640/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236070118&sr=1-3 2) "Artemis Fowl" by Eoin Colfer - alnother children's book recommended by Jen 3) "Daughter of Fortune" by Isabel Allende - supposed to be great, not sure if it's light reading 4) "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy 5) "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time" by Mark Haddon
How long do you think it will take me to get these books read? :) Happy Spring Break!
Ooh...this is totally goofy, but I'm pretty into the Twilight series. We've been reading it for book club and they are addicting, quick easy reads. A little teeny-bopperish, but entertaining nonetheless.
The Secret Life of Bees is another good one. One other book I'd like to get to this year is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Whatever you do end up reading, be sure to post on it. I'm always looking for recommendations too! Happy Reading Kel.
Let's see..."Hop on Pop," "Green Eggs and Ham," or any of the Magic Tree House series are good reads around here. Ha!
I've really enjoyed books by Jennifer Weiner and Jodi Picoult. Actually Jennifer Weiner's books are a little more light-hearted, but I couldn't put Jodi Picoult's book down. I'll be interested to know what you choose!
Matt and I both are addicted to the Vince Flynn books. The protagonist is Mitch Rapp who's a assasin secretly employeed by the US government to go on these covert missions and kill terrorists. I just wrote that and thought if someone told me that I don't know if I'd read him, but trust me, they are great books.
I started with The Third Option, then followed the next sequential book, Separation of Power and am now reading Consent to Kill.
I also love Nelson DeMille's, John Corey books. Corey's an aggogant SOB, but extremely entertaining. Wild Fire, Night Fall, The Lion's Game, Plum Island.
Have fun. I'm off to bed (to read a couple chapters myself!)
